Singer Janelle Monae turns 28 today. The singer began her career working with rapper Big Boi on her song "Tightrope" which brought her to fame. Her debut album, The ArchAndroid got her a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album. She also received six Grammy nominations in 2012 for her collaboration with fun. for "We Are Young."
Last August, Monae became an official spokeswoman for CoverGirl, and in September of this year, released her second album The Electric Lady.
