Daft Punk has teamed up with Julian Casablancas, from The Strokes for their latest single “Instant Crush.” “Instant Crush” is off of the highly successful album Random Access Memories. Daft Punk has combined their unique beats, musical styling and catchy compositions.

The band is keeping the tradition alive of creating new yet modern music and has released another creative, visually interesting music video to compliment this organic creativity. The video was directed by Warren Fu and produced by Daft Arts.

The video for “Instant Crush” features Casablancas performing the song dressed in a black leather jacket and a puppet version of the singer is dressed in Napoleonic clothing. This puppet sings to a female puppet. Fans will have to watch the video very closely to see the quick cameo of Daft Punk’s helmets.

The video has a few influences throughout including a retro feel similar to that of “The Twilight Zone.” The video for “Instant Crush,” has a feeling of being retro, creative and visually complex.

Daft Punk claimed 2013 as their own with their album and music videos. Daft Punk had one of the fasting-selling albums this year in the UK but they were beaten out by boy band, One Direction when they released Midnight Memories. Daft Punk is likely to transition this success into 2014.
