The latest research says that regular exercise is actually the best preventative “drug.”

The News Star reports that the recent studies have shown that exercising regularly reduces the risk of many health issues. Exercise can reduce the risk of early death, Type 2 diabetes, stroke, depression and many other conditions that plague people daily.

There are also some benefits, other than living longer and looking better, to exercising regularly. It has been shown to be as effective as medication for heart attack patients in preventing early death. Exercise has also been shown to relieve treatment related pain for some breast cancer patients.

Regular exercise can be something fun to add to each day and can also be beneficial to ones health. News Tonight Africa reported that with regular exercise a person can be more active into late age.

Tony Horton, creator and star of the P90X series, said that, “Physical activity is a mental and emotional game changer.” Healthier and fit people are generally happier people.

Doctors encourage people to do two and a half hours of moderate physical activity a week, or one hour and 15 minutes of vigorous activity. After all, it could prolong your life and prevent illness.
