Facebook was the most searched item on Google for the United Kingdom. The social networking website top YouTube and Google itself.
Google complied a variety of lists that detailed what was searched in 2013.
Google examined what type of questions people would type into its search engine and complied a top "what is" search list. Facebook topped this list as well. The second most asked question that was searched in Google was "What is Love?"
BBC reported that online shopping sites also cracked the top 10, eBay, Amazon and Argos all made an appearance in the top 10 search results.
Chris Green, an analyst at the Davies Murphy Group consultant explained why Facebook has made the top of both lists complied by Google. "Facebook has now firmly established itself as a hub on the internet, making it a destination for surfers to do multiple tasks such as communications, gaming, shopping, photo-sharing and information gathering," said Green.
Topping the list of the most searched celebrities in the U.K. include, Cory Monteith and Paul Walker, added The Hollywood Reporter.
