Shannon Guess Richardson pleaded guilty on Tuesday to sending both President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg ricin-laced letters.

As reported back June. The 35-year-old actress, who had small roles in The Blind Side and The Walking Dead sent letters to three people total, with the other person being a pro-gun control lobbyist.

The letters were laced with ricin and had a note stating, "You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face."

The Texas woman pleaded guilty as part of a deal to keep the prison sentence to a maximum of 18 years, The Associated Press reports. The official federal charge was for the producing and possessing a biological toxin.

After being arrested, Richardson claimed that her husband, Nathan Richardson, was involved, but she failed a polygraph test and was inconsistent in her stories.

Despite that, in a signed affidavit she maintained that her husband had forced her to send the three letters.
