Ricky Spicer, a former child singer, is suing Kanye West for using his voice without permission on West's track "Bound 2," which is off his latest album Yeezus.
The 56-year-old says that West uses his voice from when he was a member of the band Ponderosa Twins Plus One as a kid, reports New York Daily News. He was only 12 years old then and living in an orphanage in Ohio.
Music publisher Chuck Brown discovered him during a talent show in 1969. He set up Spicer as the lead singer of a band consisting of two sets of twins.
The suit states, "Mr. Spicer's voice is sampled exactly as he recorded it and his voice ... is heard several times." Spicer asks either for his voice to be removed from the record or that he be compensated for the sample.
Earlier Monday, it was reported that West thought of someone other than himself during a recent concert appearance. During a Sunday night show, the rapper called Drake a "rap god," specifically saying, "I want to thank the rap god Drake for coming out tonight."
