Twentieth Century Fox is negotiating for the rights to Mark Millar's upcoming comic Starlight.
If Fox manages to snag the rights, then X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg is ready to step in and begin working on the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kinberg will also produce the film adaptation.
Starlight hasn't even been released yet and there is interest, showing just how popular Kick-Ass creator Millar is. The comic is set to be published in March 2014 through Image. Goran Parlove provided the illustrations for Millar's latest work.
The comic follows a space hero who returned to Earth after saving the universe to find that no one believes the stories he has to tell. His old rocket ship shows up 35 years later after he has settled down with kids and a wife.
It's no surprise that Fox is interested in being the one to adapt Millar's latest work as the studio is currently working on another of his work's Wikimedia Commons
