Fox is planning a remake of the classic 1974 detective drama Murder on the Orient Express from Sidney Lumet.

Variety reported that Ridley Scott, Mark Gordon and Simon Kinberg will be producers on the upcoming project but no director or actors have been selected.

Scott is currently working on his most recent film, Exodus for Fox. The Hollywood Reporter added. Kinberg just re-signed his deal with the studio, Kinberg will most likely be put on a path that would include working on the highly popular X-Men universe. Gordon is currently working on another Narina film.

The 70s filmed was based on the 1934 novel Murder on the Orient Express. Orient Express starred Albert Finney as Poirot. This film was a huge success making over $35 million dollars and receiving six Academy Awards.

No word yet on if this remake will be a period piece or a modern take on the material.

Furthermore, No production schedule or release date has been announced regarding the new Orient Express.
