Fox has decided to move up the release of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes by a week. It will take the date Universal had scheduled Fast & Furious 7 for.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the follow-up to the 2011 hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, was originally going to be released on July 18, 2014. However, today, the studio decided to move it up to July 11, 2014, according to Box Office Mojo’s schedule.

Universal quickly scheduled Fast & Furious 7 for a July 11, 2014 release date after the success of this year’s Fast & Furious 6. However, in the wake of actor Paul Walker’s shocking death, the studio has put the project on hold indefinitely as it decides its next move. The studio assigned James Wan to the director’s chair and both Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are set to return. Lucas Black will also be back.

Rise rebooted the classic Planet of the Apes franchise, going back to the period before the apes took over earth. It grossed $481.8 million worldwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dawn is set over 10 years later and will star Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Keri Russell. Mark Bomback wrote the script and Matt Reeves is directing.
