George Zimmerman's girlfriend changed her story and has decided that she wants his charges dropped as she wants to stay with him.

This is the same girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, who called 911 saying Zimmerman was pointing a gun "at [her] freaking face," reports the Los Angeles Times.

The 27-year-old has now said in a signed affidavit that Zimmerman "never pointed a gun at or toward my face in a threatening manner." She claims the whole issue is the fault of the police and the charges were simply a "heat of the moment" thing.

According to CNN, Scheibe contends, "I am not afraid of George in any manner and I want to be with him."

Zimmerman is charged with aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of domestic violence battery and criminal mischief stemming from the Nov. 18 arrest. The couple got into a fight at her place in Florida before police arrived and hauled Zimmerman off.

With Scheibe's about face, Zimmerman's attorney said he hopes that the State Attorney's Office decides to drop the charges. The attorney also says that because of the Trayvon Martin case, that Zimmerman is "walking around with a target on his back."
