Harry Potter, a boy who millions of people witnessed grow up (through literature and film) will now be brought to the stage in Britain.

USA Today reports that J.K. Rowling has announced that she will be producing a screen play based on the books that have sold 450 million copies worldwide.

Rowling says that she aims to create a play based on the untold story of Harry, the years before Hogwarts. While she will not write the script herself, Rowling will be working Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender. Together the three producers will be working with a writer, who has not yet been chosen.

Rowling told CNN.com that she had had plenty of pitches about the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter. However, Friedman and Callender’s approach has been the only one that really made any sense to Rowling.

The play will premiere within the next two years in London’s West End. Rowling also says that she plans to bring a Harry Potter inspired movie to the big screen. This film will be based on a Hogwarts textbook called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
