While the 29th annual induction ceremony won’t take place until April 10 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, this year’s inductees have been announced.

Kiss, Nirvana, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They each became eligible 25 years after their first recording.

According to USA Today, the 2014 inductees were chosen by 700 voters in the music industry; fellow artists, historians and industry professionals. This was also the second year fans were able to vote.

Back in October, the nominees for the prestigious honor were revealed.

Besides Stevens and Kiss, the nominees this year were all first-timers.
Joel Peresman, president/CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said in a statement, “All of the 2014 inductees introduced us to something new. They might have drawn from their predecessors or built on what came before them, but they all took something from their roots, transformed it, made it their own and brought it to the world at the right time."
