The man authorities say killed a Transportation Security Administration Officer and three others in a Los Angeles airport last month has pleaded not guilty.
According to KTLA, Paul Anthony Ciancia pleaded not guilty to 11 felony charges, including one charge of murder and three charges of attempted murder.
Authorities say that the 23-year-old arrived at the airport on Nov. 1, with the intent to kill TSA workers.
The New York Daily News reported that the New Jersey native described himself in a letter as a "pissed-off patriot,” who was angry at Janet Napolitano, the former Department of Homeland Security Secretary and that he wanted to kill any and all TSA agents.
Police say when Ciancia arrived at Terminal 3 he pulled a semi-automatic weapon from his duffle bag and began firing. He shot and killed TSA Officer Gerardo Hernandez. Two other uniformed TSA officers and one traveler were wounded.
Ciancia was arrested after a gunfight with airport police and held without bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
If Ciancia is convicted he faces the death penalty.
