Lee Safar almost gave up music. She graduated from the university as a Genetic Scientist, worked as a Senior Business Analyst for a multinational IT company, got married, bought a house and moved on with her life.
12 years later she will realize that the flame that was burning inside of her, that passion for music, has never really been extinguished. And that’s when she decided that she would let her old way of living and her current career go up in flames. She left everything to pursue a career in music and devote her life to what was her passion.
As a businesswoman by nature and experience, Safar has released her first album on her own label. Working as a barista at a café in Sydney, Australia by day and recording music and attending music seminars by night, she has tested her music on café’s customers. The reactions were more than satisfying and Safar’s music was now officially approved and liked by everyone.
8 months later she has released her debut EP, Who I’ve Become that was a reflection on her previous experiences. Then a second EP titled, All This Fear was released, as well as the single “Take Me Away” and special edition Twilight Tour Pack for official Twilight movie cast and crew fan events. She has established her own label “The House of Jote,” as well as an on-line brand “Dream Angel,” which is “a blog addressing the everyday challenges and successes on the path to achieving one’s life ambitions.” Her debut full-length album, Laundry After Midnight has seen the light of the day in December, 2012.
Safar’s latest is the single “Fallen,” for which she has joined forces with Australian EDM Producer, Shane Cross. The result is a haunting, electrifying and dark electronic track, featuring Safar’s pleasant and dreamy vocals that carry a lingering sense of wistfulness.
I've fallen down, so far down, that the darkness of this place, won’t let me leave if I'm found/And it's like heroine in my veins, being back here again/Knowing if I surrender, this pain will own my end, Safar sings.
