Investigation is still going on as to how a man got left behind on a United Airlines jet during a layover in Houston.

Tom Wagoner fell asleep on the plane and woke to an empty and dark plane. Somehow everyone had gotten off the plane and not noticed the dozing Wagoner still in his seat. "I woke up and the lights were out. I was like, what's going on?" said Wagoner according to ABC News.

Wagoner then called his girlfriend Debbie, who called the airline to have a crew sweep the plane. A half hour later the crew retrieved Wagoner off the plane while he said “Don't put the blame on me. I didn't do anything wrong here.” The airline put him up in a hotel for the night and gave him a free Amenities package.

Express Jet issued a statement Saturday, according to The Examiner, stating, "An ExpressJet passenger remained on board flight 4245, operating as United Express from Lafayette, La. to Houston on Friday, Dec. 6, after all passengers had deplaned. ExpressJet is investigating to determine how this occurred. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused for the passenger."

It is still not known how crew managed to miss Wagoner when they should be completing a post-flight walkthrough after landing and deplaning.
