Josh Romney, son of 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, helped a family after their vehicle crashed into a house in a Salt Lake City suburb Friday.

Romney posted a photo to Twitter and announced his hand in helping the family of four in their time of need.

According to the Huffington Post, a couple and their two teenage children sped through an intersection and into the living room of a house across the street, possibly influenced by a medical condition of the driver of the SUV. All four passengers escaped with minor injuries.

Romney, who witnessed the entire incident, rushed to their rescue, opened the driver's-side door and pulled the family members out of the vehicle.

“I drove to the accident site and entered the home where the car had come to a stop on its side,” the 38-year-old said, reports Fox News. “I opened the car door and spoke with the four passengers inside the car. Miraculously, they appeared to have no major injuries. I was able to help each of them get out of the car and lift them down to the ground.”

Romney rejected any praise of his heroic act. "What I did to help the people involved in the accident is what anyone else would do who witnessed such a potentially dangerous situation," he said.

Only one man was home at the time of the crash, and he was left unhurt in the basement.

Romney has gotten both positive and negative feedback for his actions - the negative due to him smiling and holding his hand on the banged up car in his photo on Twitter. However, at the time of the photo, Romney had already helped everyone out of the vehicle and confirmed their safety and stable conditions.
