Paul Walker, an actor who starred in Universal’s action franchise Fast & Furious, has reportedly died in a car. He was just 40-years-old.

TMZ first reported that Walker was involved in a single-car accident in Santa Clarita, just north of Los Angeles. Sources close to the actor told the site that he was in a Porsche and lost control, slamming into a tree or post. At that point, his car burst into flames.

The site’s sources say that there was another person in the car with Walker and also died. The L.A. County Coroner's Office is rushing to the scene.

As this is still developing, TMZ notes that it’s not clear what caused the driver to lose control or who was behind the wheel. He was apparently in Santa Clarita for a car show to benefit victims of the Philippines typhoon and was taking friends for rides in his Porsche GT.

According to Us Weekly, Walker had just revealed that his daughter, Meadow, 15, had just begun living with him. She had lived with her mother, Walker’s then-girlfriend, Rebecca.

Walker starred in the first Fast & The Furious film in 2001 and returned for this year’s Fast & Furious 6. He was set to return for the seventh film and sounded excited for a chance to work with Saw director James Wan in an MTV News interview. The franchise is reportedly going to continue for two further films.
