Pink was recently named Billboard Magazine's Woman of the Year in music and was honored at Billboard's Women in Music Event yesterday.

Pink was honored along with up and coming music star, Janelle Monáe.

Billboard reported that all of the honorees were honored Tuesday afternoon at the annual Billboard Women in Music event at Capitale in New York City.

Pink was surprised that she would receive this type of an award. The "Trouble" singer said that many other names came to mind before her own for the award. "These are names that popped into my head, and not just music, but Hillary Clinton, Angelina Jolie," she said. "Or Miley Cyrus, if you're high as shit and you have a thing for tongues. You don't think, 'Oh yeah Woman of the Year? Pink for sure.' I don't, anyway, but I'm not going to argue with you," said Pink.

Pink was also honored by the Grammys, she received two nominations for her single, "Just Give Me a Reason," The Daily Mail added

Pink has recently been enjoying success from her new album, The Truth About Love and a world wide tour. Pink has always been known in the music industry for being herself and staying true to her musical roots, even though she often did not fit into the pop music stereotype.
