Breaking Bad has somehow made its way into real life. A meth dealer whose real name is Walter White, yes, just like Breaking Bad’s own meth dealer, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
53-year-old White of Billings, Montana was arrested in January when he was found selling meth to Nebraska workers. White was only discovered as the dealer when he was shot by his own son over a dispute surrounding a drug debt. According to Telegraph, a Montana judge said, “He ended up getting shot by his son. 32.5 pounds of methamphetamine coupled with guns and violence is about as serious as you can get.”
White’s house was searched under warrant in March. The search brought evidence of drug dealing including the discovery of four ounces of meth, two guns and more than $15,000 in cash.
White’s sentence was originally nine years for dealing meth but three years were added on for a firearms conviction. White also received five years probation which prevents him from firearm position.
According to Metro, White did not actually cook the meth himself, like his doppelganger from the hit AMC show. His cook, Tomas Alvarado, received a 30-year sentence.
White pleaded guilty to his crimes and admitted he had become addicted to the substance. He also said that when he tried to quit dealing he was threatened by suppliers so continued the job.
