Rebecca Black has released songs since her 2011 viral hit “Friday,” but none have seemed to gain traction. Her song “Saturday,” a follow-up to her 61.7 million hit success, is now getting some attention.
“Saturday” has been viewed almost 9 million times as of Monday. The song references “Friday” multiple times and it features such lyrics as "I don't want this Saturday to end.”
Black isn’t alone this time. She sings “Saturday” alongside YouTube star Dave Days, ABC News reports.
"IT IS HERE. YES. THE OFFICIAL SEQUEL TO FRIDAY. I PRESENT TO YOU, SATURDAY,” she tweeted.
The now 16 year old Black also enlisted a Miley Cyrus look-alike for the video, complete with the Wrecking Ball singer’s famous short blonde hair. In the video, she twerks just like she did at the MTV Video Music Awards during her “We Can’t Stop” performance.
Black is more mature this time around and the overall production of the video is undeniably better. No word if there will be yet another follow-up to “Saturday.”
