NBC announced they’ve given the green-light on a four mini-series remake of Ira Levin’s novel Rosemary’s Baby. The novel was also made into a film in 1968 starring Mia Farrow.

The new mini-series is getting a change of scenery according to The Seattle Times and will be taking place in Paris instead of its original New York location. The story will follow a young married couple who moves into a creepy apartment. The wife becomes pregnant and everyone around her starts acting funny causing the wife to expect something odd to happen after the child is born.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Scott Abbott and James Wong will write the screenplay and Agnieszka Holland will direct.

President of NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke had to say, “As we move into the event movie and miniseries space, Rosemary’s Baby represents the kind of attention-getting, surprising project that will make noise for us. The story has been updated and moved to Paris, but it’s faithful to the spirit of Ira Levin’s classic novel. This is a compelling tale wonderfully told.”

Production of the mini-series will start in January and casting has begun.
