The Newtown Sandy Hook school shooting occurred back in Dec. 2012 and authorities are now releasing the several thousand pages of police documents from the investigation into the shooting. The documents will be released Friday at 3 p.m.
On Dec. 14 of last year Adam Lanza entered Sandy Hook Elementary and shot a semi-automatic rifle which killed 20 first-graders and six teachers. Before coming to the school Lanza had killed his mother at their home. When police arrived at the school Lanza committed suicide.
The report will include text, photos and 911 calls received by state police notes the Associated Press. Just last month a 48 page summary of the investigation was released but did not include the motives of the gunman.
The summary reports Lanza had "significant mental health issues" but did not list the motive for the massacre. Lanza was diagnosed with Asperger’s, a form of autism, in 2005. He was also noted to have acted very strangely, refusing to touch doorknobs and changing clothes multiple times during the day.
The report also says that Lanza was obsessed with mass murderers and killings.
