The band Slipknot has just lost their drummer, Joey Jordison, after eighteen years of being in the band. The band made the announcement on their website.
Slipknot wrote that they are parting ways with Jordison for “personal reasons” and wish him the best going forward.
"It is with great pain but quiet respect, that for personal reasons Joey Jordison and Slipknot are parting ways. We all wish Joey the best in whatever his future holds,” the message reads . “We understand that many of you will want to know how and why this has come to be, and we will do our best to respond to these questions in the near future."
According to Starpulse, Jordison hinted at possible trouble with the band when he announced he was embarking upon a side project. However, he maintained at the time that he still made Slipknot his main priority.
"I'm gonna be forming a band in the near future with a lot of the material I've been writing lately,” he sai at the time. “I have been in the studio and I think people will be pretty surprised at what I come up with. It's heavy! But (Slipknot) is all I care about right now."
Back in 2010, the band lost their bass player, Paul Gray, who passed away.
