If you want a hard copy of Beyonce's new self-titled album you should avoid stopping at Target. The album was first released online, and because of that Target will not be stocking their shelves with this hot seller.

Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski told Billboard, "At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections.”
Beyonce and Target have partnered in the past but because of the unexpected release of the digital CD, Target will not carry the CD because they focus on offering the physical copy at the same time as additional formats.

According to NY Daily News, Beyonce was released by Columbia Records at 12 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13. The release was offered through iTunes without any pre-release marketing. The physical copy of the album will not be able until at least Dec. 18 when some retailers should start receiving the album. Most of them will have it by Friday, Dec. 20. No retailer will carry any CD’s with bonus content.

Walmart has no problem carrying Beyonce which is set to be in stores by the end of the week. Walmart spokesperson Sarah McKinney said Walmart are thrilled to carry the album “and support all physical music.”

Beyonce worked with Target in her last release for CD 4. They carried an exclusive version that included six additional tracks.
