Country superstar, Taylor Swift, has donated $100,000 to the Nashville Symphony in celebration of her 24th birthday.
The Nashville Symphony had a rough past couple of years, including avoiding an almost foreclosure on the hall and symphony musicians receiving a 15% salary cut.
The New York Times reported that Swift and the symphony have a history together. Swift received the annual Harmony Award in 2011, and has performed at the concert hall.
David Pomeroy, the president of Local 257 of the American Federation of Musicians, released a statement saying that if other donors would follow the example of Swift, the salary cut could be overturned in contract negotiations later on in 2014.
Pomeroy also praised Swift for her donation and added that she is a member of the union and is a very generous artist who constantly shows her passion and love for the greater Nashville community, AP added.
The "22" singer is no stranger to charity. Swift, who is a resident of Nashville, has pledged to donate $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame over time and recently donated 14,000 children's book the the public library in Nashville.
