It has been a busy week for Tessanne Chin. She won The Voice on NBC and has already released her first single following the victory, which was written by One Republic's Ryan Tedder.
Music fans might be used to the songs that American Idol winners perform when they win the competition, but this single from Chin is not just a victory song, it is a pop single.
The songwriting was a very difficult process for Tedder because he didn't know who would win the competition. Chin has recorded the single "Tumbling Down" and it seems like she was meant for this song from the beginning.
The song features Chin's signature Jamaican style and showcases her one of a kind vocal range. It tells the story of a relationship and how it stands the test of time even when everything is tumbling down.
It is interesting to listen to the song knowing that Tedder was behind the production and songwriting. It feels like this could have easily been a One Republic track, but Chin has taken the song and completely made it her own.
This is only the first single from Chin, but it will make fans even more energized for a full length album from the Voice winner.
The single is also available on iTunes.
