The Killers with help from Dawes has written an emotional ballad “Christmas in L.A.”

The Killers have created a holiday tradition of releasing a holiday themed song around this time of year. The song fits into the holiday season but also has a deeper central core with the lyrics and heartfelt chorus.

The single is very pleasant and featured a slow build with guitar and drums moving the song forward. The band Dawes is featured on the single as well, the folk-rock driven musicians are also from Los Angeles, so the song feels personal for all involved in the performance.

The band has released a music video for “Christmas in L.A.” The video features Owen Wilson as the main character during the holiday season. Wilson visits different L.A. locations. There are a variety of creative influences that can be felt during the video, including animation. The video does return to Wilson alone in his apartment.

It’s fun to see Wilson outside of his normal acting roles and be featured in a more indie project. The song is perfectly timed with the holidays and fans will not be disappointed with the new video.
