This week Jay-Z dedicates a song to Nelson Mandela, Mac Miller & Pharrell Williams are working on an album together and Childish Gambino recieves mixed reviews for Because The Internet.

Late last week the world lost a great leader. Many people all over the world, took to the internet to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela but Jay-Z took his tribute a step further. According to the Rolling Stone, Jay-Z ended his show at the Staples Center in LA by dedicating his hit song "Forever Young" to Nelson Mandela.

"All our dreams are possible...Tonight I'm living my dream in front of y'all," Jay-Z said as the intro to "Forever Young" began. "..Let that great man stand as an example of what you can do." The show ended with the crowd singing along with the song.

Rolling Stone reports that Pharrell Williams and Mac Miller are collaborating on an album. The project commonly known as the Pink Slime EP, has reportedly been in the works since the end 2012. However, due to an eventful past year for both Williams & Miller the project was put on hold.

Recently, Mac Miller spoke about resuming the project. "We actually just talked a couple days ago...I'm going to go see him [in Miami] and we're going to finish it and put it out...All we gotta do it sit down for a few days and knock out songs." Pink Slime is said to be released by the end of 2014.

Despite the excitement surrounding Childish Gambino's new album, Because the Internet has been recieving mixed reviews from rap-purists and new fans alike. SPIN magazine gave it a disappointing 2/10 & labeled it Worst New Music. Consequence of Sound gave it 1.5 stars out of 5, stating that the album lacked honesty. The author even said that, "Glover is acting like he never grew up as well, offering up some of the least mature writing choices imaginable, featuring tricks that only impress the easily impressed."

However, Noisey defended the rapper by saying that maybe people don't like the album simply because of the internet. The author notes that although Childish Gambino is easy to dislike, Because The Internet is a good album, stating that,"The production is gripping, carrying the smoothness of Channel Orange blended with Yeezus-esque bombast."

Regardless of the debate, one thing is for sure, Because The Internet will be on the minds of hip-hop fans for weeks to come as they decide whether this new style of rap is worth loving or hating.
