While Will Ferrell was open to doing a sequel to Anchorman, the comedian said that he is not planning on making a sequel to his other iconic film, the holiday classic Elf.

The Saturday Night Live alum said that he is simply too old to try to be Buddy the Elf again while chatting on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live!. “Absolutely not,” he said when asked about it, reports People. “It would look slightly pathetic if I tried to squeeze back into the Elf tights."

While appearing on the show Tuesday, which is hosted by Andy Cohen, Ferrell also recalled his time on SNL, joking that Joan Allen was the show’s worst guest host. He also said that his all-time favorite sketch is the famous Cowbell Sketch, notes Zap2It.

“Maybe my favorite sketch ... is the Cowbell Sketch, the 'Don't Fear the Reaper.' And the one character I was happy to not play anymore -- this is going to seem odd, but I was forced to play Ted Turner and I never really had a good Ted Turner impersonation. ... It's not a good story,” Ferrell said. “It's the truth, though.”

So, while we won’t get to see the further adventures of Buddy any time soon, we’ll still have the original to warm our hearts during the holiday season. Elf was released back in 2003 and was directed by Jon Favreau.

Ferrell can currently be seen in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which opened on Wednesday.
