On Tuesday night around 6 p.m. a U.S Air Force Pave Hawk helicopter crashed on the Norfolk coast, killing the four crew members in it.

According to the AFP , the Royal Air Force stated that the helicopter was assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing, which is involved in anti-terrorism, was flying low during a training exercise at the time of the crash.

Pave Hawk helicopters are used on recovery missions for injured soldiers, and will most likely fly close to the ground during training. Another use for the helicopter is rescue missions in natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina.

Until family members have been notified, the crew members will remain anonymous, as well as part of the wreckage to preserve evidence.

Pedestrians and motorists are being detoured because there was live ammunition, according to BBC News . Unlike the helicopter crash that happened in Glasgow a month before, no one else was hurt.

A reason for the helicopter crash has not been cited.
