An eight-year-old boy in Penfield, N.Y., has died trying to save victims from a fire inside a mobile home.

According to the New York Daily News, Tyler J. Doohan woke up six of his family members when he noticed the fire early Monday morning. The courageous boy rushed to safety, but then went back inside the home to save his disabled uncle, authorities said.

USA Today reports that firefighters found the little boy’s body in the back bedroom of the trailer next to the bed of his disabled Uncle Steve Smith.
The boy’s grandfather, Lou Beach, whose home it was, also perished in the fire along with several pets.

Investigators believe that the fire was caused by some type of electrical problem and quickly spread through the home.

"The roof had collapsed on the front half of the trailer and one of the individuals was found there, probably on a couch, but there was nothing left to even see if it was furniture," Penfield Fire Chief Chris Ebmeyer said. "In the rear, there was a bedroom and the other deceased male was found in a bed. The child was a few feet away."
