It was announced today that the Italian Supreme Court has found American Knox, and her former boyfriend, the Italian Raffaele Sollecito, guilty of murder, according to USA Today.
This is the third trial for Knox and Sollecito, as they have been found both guilty and innocent in the past for the 2007 murder of Knox's roommate, Meredeth Kercher.
After an original guilty sentencing in 2009, the trial was acquitted in 2011 after it was decided that some of the evidence used it the case, including blood and DNA, was mishandled. The ruling was then dismissed by the Italian Supreme Court in March of 2013, stating that all evidence was not considered by the former jury, according to CNN.
Knox, who was not present for the trial, but in Seattle where she currently resides, was sentenced to 28 years, while Sollecito was sentenced to more than 25 years. It was asked from the prosecutors that the two receive a sentencing of at least 26 years in prison each.
