Five videogames have been nominated by the Writers Guild of America for videogame writing awards.
The five games nominated are Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins The Last of Us, Lost Planet 3 and God of War: Ascension, reports Variety.
Games released after Nov. 30 were not eligible for nominations for this year, but will be up for consideration next year.
Videogames are an exception to WGA rules and those created not by those involved in the WGA are still eligible for nomination. Film and TV writing nominations are only open to those produced through the WGA. On Feb. 1, the winner will be announced during the normal WGA awards' ceremonies that happen simultaneously in New York and Los Angeles.
According to TheWrap, Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing has only been a part of the WGA awards for seven years. Those nominated were considered by the WGA Videogame Writers Caucus and WGA members that work on videogame writing.
