Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast to star in Sergei Bodrov's new film Blood Mountain.
Altitude Film Sales will look to attract buyers for the film at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin, reports Screen Daily.
Bodrov's will direct based upon a script from Jonathan W. Stokes, which also features rewrites from John Romano. Derby Street Films' Rachel Green, Energy Entertainment's Brooklyn Weaver and Shaun Redick will executive produce. James Givv, Nicola Horlick and Lawrence Bender will produce Blood Mountain.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will focus on a private military contractor who survives an ambush on his special forces team that leaves them all dead.
He then has to try and take in one of the terrorists who was involved in the attack to answer for his crimes, but the both of them are being tailed by bounty hunters and mercenaries looking to cash in on a bounty.
Blood Mountain is set to begin principal photography in Morocco in April.
