Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in the upcoming thriller Blood Mountain. Altitude Film Sales will be shopping to international buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin.
Sergei Bodrov will direct the upcoming Blood Mountain, Varietyreported.
Lawrence Bender known for Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Bastards, along with Nicola Horlick and James Gibb producing.
The movie will tell the story of a military contractor whose special forces team is ambushed and killed during a raid. This forces the contract to escort one of the world's most wanted terrorists across hostile terrain all in the name of justice.
The film is expected to go into production in early April.
No other casting decisions have been announced at this time.
Cumberbatch is currently working on the BBC hit, Sherlock which has seen some of its highest ratings in its third season. Cumberbatch recently spoke about how he loves playing Sherlock and will continue to play the role. “I’m going to keep going with it,” he said. “I love it. I find it very invigorating," Entertainment News reported.
Show co-creator Steven Moffat said that the show will go on until "Benedict gets too famous and he’ll refuse.”
