Beyoncé's self-titled album, that was released without any marketing or press, has achieved another goal, the album has been No. 1 for three straight weeks on the Billboard album charts. This has been the first CD to accomplish this since April.
The album was only released on iTunes at first but became available in a variety of stores on Dec. 21.
Billboard reported that the album sold 310,000 copies during this last week and that was a decrease from album sales last week. This album was is also the only musical album since 2009 to sell more than 300,000 copies in its first three weeks.
Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience, was the last album to be at the top of Billboards album charts for three weeks in a row.
This album from Beyonce is also in the running to take over the record from Taylor Swift who spent seven weeks at number one with Red.
Straits Times added that in total since the album was released, Beyonce has sold over 1.3 million copies in the United States.
