With the debut of Britney Spears’ new documentary, I Am Britney Jean, fans and admirers are able to see the behind-the-scenes look at life behind the stage for the pop icon. The documentary also followed Spears’ journey and rehearsal process to the Vegas stage in her new spectacular, Britney: Piece of Me, which is now becoming Vegas’s new largest seller.

According to Buzzfeed, the mother of two’s new show is already the largest selling residency of the new year. The spectacle officially opened on December 27 at Las Vegas’s famous Planet Hollywood and has quickly become the third largest residency ever. Spears has even outsold iconic superstars such as Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Shania Twain, and even Elton John.

Although StubHub could not deliver exact numbers, the former Mickey Mouse Club performer was rated one of the highest selling artists on StubHub’s 2013/2014 list when compared to the additional megastars listed above.

In an earlier interview with the VP of entertainment at Caesars Entertainment, Kurt Melien, Billboard.com spoke with him in regards to her anticipated residency and wide demographic.

Melien opened up saying“…we love the idea that she appeals to a 30- and 40-something, but also to a 20-something. There are fans who loved her in the ‘90s and 2000s, and she certainly has a large fanbase of folks who follow her contemporary music.”

The VP of the thriving performance industry also revealed what he thinks to be the differences between the genres that took residency at the theater before her. Melien stated, “You have Garth Brooks and Tim & Faith, but the idea that we could see a sit-down from a younger country artist is a pretty compelling idea,” he continued saying, “I think pop continues to be underserved, but Britney will certainly help fill that gap in a big way. Those are the two that we’re thinking about today.”

While Spears' Vegas special just nearly began, it is clear that fans and interested show-goers truly do want a piece of the triple-threat performer. Spears has been performing since a young age starting with the Mickey Mouse Club where she met former longtime boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. The “Oops I Did It Again” singer then went on to pursue a solo music career now creating what may be one of the most sought after residencies in Vegas.
