The band, Clean Bandit has secured the No. 1 spot on the U.K single charts for the first time with their single, "Rather Be." The band had the highest sales total for a January No. 1 single for the past 18 years.

"Rather Be" sold 163,000 in the week which ended on Saturday evening,Billboard added.

Clean Bandit first acme onto the music scene back last spring with their single, "Mozart's House," which reached No. 17 on the charts.

In comparison to last weeks numbers one from Grammy award winner, Pharrell Williams, "Rather Be" sold 45,000 more copies than "Happy" which took the number two spot on the charts, The Guardian reported.

The band spoke to Billboard and expressed their almost disbelief over the top charting success. "I can't believe we're No 1!"

Ellie Goulding took the top spot on the album charts with her latest release, Halcyon. Bruce Springsteen’s High Hopes fell to the second spot after Goulding reclaimed the top of the album charts.
