A Connecticut man posed online as a fake model scout for a fake agency to lure unsuspecting victims into sending him naked photos of themselves.
According to the New York Daily News, police say Anand Amin forced women into paying more money or performing sexual acts by threatening to go public with the nude photos.
WTHN has reported that the bogus agency that Amin claimed he was a scout for was called “Gucci Top Modeling” and was set up out of his home.
Police arrested Amin on Thursday after investigating the “agency” for months.
The 24-year-old targeted women through the internet posing as a female talent scout in order to gain their thrust and then promised them modeling jobs after they paid a fee and sent the explicit photos.
Obviously many of the women became suspicious when their so-called modeling gigs never happened.
Police believe that more victims have yet to come forward.
Amin is set to appear in court at the end of the month to face criminal charges.
