A group of 2013’s rising stars have been honored with nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Awards’ EE Rising Star Award 2014. 12 Years A Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o and Dane DeHaan of Kill Your Darlings will compete with three others.

DeHaan’s career has exploded in recent months, thanks to roles in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln and The Place Beyond The Pines. He also got strong reviews for his role in Kill Your Darlings, opposite Daniel Radcliffe. DeHaan is about to become an even bigger star with a role in The amazing Spider-Man 2.

“I am so thankful to BAFTA for considering me for this award,” DeHaan said in a statement released by the academy. “It’s a huge honor and humbling experience to be recognized amongst such a talented group of actors."

Nyong’o has received Oscar buzz for her portrayal of a slave in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave, while French actress Lea Seydoux has given an acclaimed performance in Blue Is The Warmest Color.

George McKay, who has been acting since he was 12, was nominated after starring in three movies in 2013 - Sunshine on Leith, For Those in Peril and How I Live Now.

The final nominee is Will Poulter, who starred in We’re The Millers and the U.K. indie Wild Bill. He recently won an award from the London Critics’ Circle Awards for young British performer of the year.

According to The BBC, the field was picked by actress Gemma Arterton, film critic Mark Kermode, deputy BAFTA film committee chair Pippa Harris and others. “It's always tough to choose five nominees from the hundreds of suggestions from our members and film industry figures, and this year has been no exception,” Harris said. “The EE Rising Star Award acknowledges new talent but also allows the British public to be involved in the judging process, and choose their stars of the future.”

You can vote for your favorite star here. The winner will be announced during the BAFTAs on Feb. 16.
