Delta planes that the company flies domestically will soon get a major overhaul.

According the Associated Press, on Wednesday Delta announced that the project will cover 225 planes and every seat will be electrically powered for the convenience of passengers. Roomy overhead bins will also be installed.

Delta will reportedly spend $770 million on the project that is expected to take three-years and the airline is already retiring planes that will not be refurbished.

On Tuesday, USA Today reported that the company retired its last DC-9s. In fact, over the past five years, the Atlanta-based airline has removed more than 350 aircraft from its fleet.

The AP notes that Delta will be able to fit about 19 more seats on its Boeing 757-200s, six additional seats on its Airbus A319s, and 10 more on its A320s.

The new remodel plan should be welcomed by travelers. Powered seats and more space in the overheads will add a little more comfort to those not-so-comfortable flights.
