Many passengers on a four-night trip aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise liner got sick with a stomach virus.

According to the Daily Mail, when the ship docked almost 70 passengers and more than 80 crew members were ill from a suspected norovirus outbreak.

The norovirus is a highly contagious stomach bug that affects millions of Americans each year. The virus can be fatal.

The cruise liner gave ill passengers over-the-counter medication to help with the vomiting bug.

The Majesty of the Seas stopped at ports in the Bahamas and Key West, before it headed back to Miami on Friday, but sick passengers didn’t get much enjoyment at the ports of call.

CNN has reported that this is just the latest setback for the cruise industry in the past year, noting the fire that broke out on the Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas cruise ship, forcing passengers to fly home last May and the engine-room fire that left the Carnival Triumph floating in the Gulf of Mexico last February.
