In 1979, the Eagles played for four nights in L.A.’s Forum. This past Wednesday, the band re-opened the prestigious venue in a three hour celebration. Wednesday’s concert was the first of six Eagles shows scheduled over the next two weeks. The band has been eagerly awaiting this special event. Last July, Glen Frey told Rolling Stone,"We're thinking already of what's gonna happen that night and we might want to spice up our show with a few things.”
Don Henley, Glen Frey, and other members of the Eagles held their own on the large stage while fans roared in this venue that can hold 13,700 spectators. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show looked like Storytellers meets Stop Making Sense. The playlist included Henley’s ”Those Shoes” and classics like ”Take it to the Limit” and “Hotel California.”
Madison Square Garden Company closed a deal to buy L.A.’s Forum over a year ago. The space was nearly demolished to create a housing development. The company invested over $100 million dollars to renovate this state-of-the art venue.
