Acclaimed producer-director-writer Ed Zwick will be honored at the Cinema Audio Society Awards on Feb. 22. Zwick will be honored with the Filmmaker Award. The Cinema Audio Society recognizes outstanding achievement in sound mixing.
David E. Fluhr, president of the CAS, told The Hollywood Reporter, “It seems fitting that in celebration of 50 years of the CAS we are honoring Edward Zwick, a producer-director-writer of both award-winning film and television. His projects have consistently demonstrated a commitment to quality in story and craft, particularly sound.”
According to Variety, other Cinema Audio Society nominees include Captain Phillips, Gravity, Inside Llewyn Davis, Lone Survivor, and Iron Man 3.
Edward Zwick is known for his work on Blood Diamond, The Last Samurai, I am Sam, and Traffic. He also worked on projects for the small screen like Once and Again and Quarterlife. Zwick most recently directed and produced Pawn Sacrifice starring Tobey Maguire, Liev Schreiber, Michael Stuhlbarg and Peter Sarsgaard.
The 50th Annual Cinema Audio Society Awards will be held at the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
