Lakemaid Beer Company attempted to elevate beer to new heights, but unfortunately their endeavor was halted.
According to the Business Wire, Lakemaid Beer Company tested a new way to get beer to their customers on ice fishing lakes in Wisconsin and Minnesota by use of drone delivery, inspired by Amazon’s efforts to do the same with their products.
From a business standpoint, this is an example of a company meeting the demands of their buyers –customer service at its finest. This also brings into question, what the exact protocols for drone usage are and how these activities will be enforced.
The FAA, or the Federal Aviation Administration, is not primarily focused on commercial use at this time, writes the Star Tribune. In an interview with the newspaper, Jack Supple, the company’s president said, “I see what they’re talking about. When you think of all of the people who are going to come up with ways to use these, the regulation of it is going to be important.”
The company’s effort toward their business advancement is notably ambitious. With the entrance of this new drone technology, industries can imagine endless possibilities, but they must wait on government approval.
