Believed to have left the band, drummer and one of the founding members, Joey Jordison released a statement citing that he did not quit Slipknot.
As reported on December 13, Slipknot explained on their website that they parted ways with Jordison due to “personal reasons” and did not disclose any detail at all in their statement only hinting that they would try to give answers as best they could to the fans.
Today Blabbermouth.net reported that Joey Jordison released a statement of his own saying, “"To my fans, friends, and associates… I would like to start the New Year by addressing the recent rumors and speculation regarding my departure from SLIPKNOT” and “This news has shocked and blindsided me as much as it has all of you.”
Blabbermouth.net also noted that the delay on a new Slipknot album may be the fault of lead singer Corey Taylor, who has been working and touring with his side project Stone Sour for the last three years. We can only assume that this could be the beginning of a long, speculated-fueled feud between the former drummer and band.
Slipknot are reportedly headed back into the studio in January.
