Former Congresswoman Gabrielle “Gabby" Giffords has not ruled out running for political office again.

According to the Associated Press, Giffords, who is still recovering from a shooting three years ago, may consider a return to political office.

Giffords announced her resignation from office last year, but she was asked about running again Thursday on the “Today” show.

The 43-year-old simply replied “maybe,” leaving many to speculate if she would or not.

In 2011, the Arizona Democrat was shot in the head while making an appearance at a Safeway grocery store in Casas Adobes, Arizona. Jared Lee Loughner ran up to the crowd gathered outside the store and started firing.
He hit 19 people, killing six and injuring 13, including the congresswoman.

Giffords has had a very lengthy recovery, but despite her long road she has always remained positive about her progress.

Wednesday Arizona Central reported that Giffords went skydiving to mark the third anniversary of the shooting.
