Gillian Anderson’s show, The Fall will be seen in Europe this year. HBO Europe has acquired pay-TV rights to the show.
Fans abroad will be able to see the crime drama that takes place in Northern Ireland and shoots in Belfast. The Fall is produced by Artists Studio for BBC2. HBO has penned the deal with the German sales company, ZDF Enterprises. In the United States, The Fall is already available on Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Fall is a psychological thriller written by Alan Cubitt. In the series, the police officers are trying to catch a serial killer, Paul Spector, played by Jamie Dornan. According to Variety, The Fall is produced by Gub Neal of Artists Studio. A second season of the series has already been ordered.
Gillian Anderson was known for her role in in the X Files. She starred as Dana Scully in the drama, opposite of David Duchovny. Dana Scully was a special agent put on cases to solve the unsolvable. Anderson was also seen on the small screen as Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier in Hannibal and Meg Fitch in Crisis.
