The space thriller staring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, Gravity will be re-released on IMAX screens on January 31st.
Gravity was a box office success and many movie goers went to see the space thriller in IMAX.
Crave Online added that the re-release will be for IMAX in 3D.
Cinema Blend reported that the film will also be returning to be viewed in 2D on screens today.
Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment and Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp, spoke about how due to fan demand the film is being brought back into IMAX. "Congratulations to Alfonso, David Heyman and Warner Bros. on today’s Academy Award nominations. We’re delighted with the overwhelming success of Gravity and the continued demand we’re seeing from moviegoers, both domestically and around the world, to bring it back in IMAX. Word of mouth has been tremendous, with fans and critics demanding that Gravity must be experienced in the most immersive way possible," said Foster.
Gravity was nominated for ten Oscars, tying American Hustle for the most nominations. Gravity is nominated for best picture, best director, Alfonso Cuarón and a best actress nomination for Sandra Bullock.
The film also won at the Critics' choice awards, CNN reported that Sandra Bullock took home the award for best actress. Bullock even made headlines for dropping an "F bomb" on stage when an technical glitch interrupted her acceptance speech.
