Lionsgate’s horror inspired film, I, Frankenstein is expected to only bring in around 7.7 million dollars at the box office on its opening weekend. I, Frankenstein is the only new wide release to be opening in theaters in this weekend. Aaron Eckhart stars in the film.
The film cost a reported $65 million to produce and that does not include the marketing costs, Variety reported.
The film earned under three million on its first day in theaters, a portion of that coming for special 3-D showings, Forbes added.
It is likely that by the end of the weekend I, Frankenstein will come in sixth place at the box office.
Kevin Hart's buddy comedy Ride Along, is likely to continue its successful run. The film broke box office records for January making $48.6 million in the past four days.
Nut Job is expected to open with $11 million for the weekend and Lone Survivor continues its success and will likely bring in another $12 million.
